Maddy is slowly falling for the teenage boy, Olly Bright. When Olly gives Maddy his email they start massaging each other throughout the day. Olly starts falling for Maddy, but little does he know that Maddy cannot have visitors nor go outside because of SCID. The more she talks to Olly the less she interacts with her mom. Her mom, Paulina Whittier, begins to get suspicious and starts questioning Maddy. Maddy gets irritated because her mom is not leaving her alone, so she runs away. Her and Olly take a last minute vacation to Hawaii. Maddy has always wanted to see the ocean so Olly took her to Hawaii. Olly didn’t want to take Maddy at first because she would've gotten sick, but she told him she was testing some new medicine from Canada.
